This is a great scrap buster and is reversible which is always a nice touch and gives a satisfyingly neat finish. 5 out of 4 patterns describe it as:
If you have a night on the town planned or you need something to hold that ball of yarn you’re crocheting this DIY Knot Wristlet is all you’ll need. Everyone needs a perfectly sized wristlet and this is the one you’ll come back to again and again.
I don't have a night on the town planned or even a ball of yarn but I think it will be a super useful bag when out on errands or walking the dog. Its a decent size - I can fit my phone, purse, glasses and keys in easily which is usually all I need. The actual part that you can fit items in measures approximately 20cm square.
After sewing the outer and inner sections together around a curve the tutorial suggests that you trim the seam and then clip the curves - however, I just used pinking shears to trim the seam allowance as this also clips the curves at the same time.
There are some fiddly bits of sewing to do around the handles but nothing a beginner couldn't manage - especially if you've watched the video first. The most challenging section is top stitching around the small handle as the space is very limited. You just have to do it really really slowly.
Final Thoughts: a quick satisfying sew which would make a great gift.
