I opted to make the BatWing Top with a hi-lo hem and no alterations to the pattern. I used a very lightweight knit fabric with only 1-way stretch. Anything 2-way or too heavy will get baggy quickly I think.

This is a very quick sew especially using a serger. Gathering the sleeves takes the most time as there is a lot of fabric to gather to the cuff but the finish is very pleasing.

I'm very pleased with this BatWing Top - I think I will gets lots of wear out of it over leggings or skinny jeans when the weather gets cooler. The only down side is that you can't really wear anything (such as a jacket) over it because of the 'wings' but I guess you could layer up underneath as there's plenty of room!
