Making a Night Dress

Combining the FREE Little Black Bra Pdf Pattern with a Skirt to create a Night Dress.

I recently made the FREE Little Black Bra (rebranded from The Lovesick Bra) by George & Ginger Patterns and really liked the comfortable fit. See My Review Here. As recommended I made a muslin first to check fit and see if any adjustments were required. The Little Black Bra pattern is a great scrap buster and I was able to make my muslin from some left-over fabric from The I Heart You Set I had previously made.

Even though I was happy with my Little Black Bra in the kiss print I knew that I would never actually wear it as a bra. I thought with the addition of a skirt it would make a super comfy Night Dress suitable for the hot summer we are having here in Cyprus. I returned to the fabric store where I had originally bought the Kiss Jersey Fabric from but unfortunately they were no longer stocking it so I opted for a coordinating pink jersey.

I used the skirt pattern from The Lounge Gown cut at the Mini line which is another FREE Pdf Pattern by George & Ginger Patterns. This skirt pattern is made up of two pieces cut on the fold. I simply sewed up the side seams and then sewed the skirt to the band of The Little Black Bra. This was a super quick project and to finish it off I used my zigzag stitch to topstitch down the seam allowances around the band.
